Howdy! I'm Ooma, and this is Ooma's Garden (or at least it will be)!
The first step to a well thought out garden, a garden that will be successful, is location.

We've just moved onto this land, so I will be starting from the beginning. I thought it would be fun to take you on my gardening journey. Maybe we can both learn a thing or two along the way.
So, location, location, location...
The best place to position your garden is with as much southeastern exposure as possible.
Trees are lovely, but shade can ruin a garden. For us gardeners in Texas, that burning western summer sun can wither our plants in just an afternoon. A bit of shade in the evening is good. In the north, this is not as much a worry.

I have chosen a spot the works with our property, without spoiling the beauty of the land. It take advantage of the southeastern sun. Unfortunately, I do have to remove some trees. How I hate doing that, but the garden is my priority.
Cedars are a weed in Texas, choking out oak trees, and can fuel a grass fire into an inferno in seconds. So, there're the first to go, roots and all.
Once your spot is chosen, and land prepped, the fun begins.
